A surprise leadership change at CentralNic.
Ben Crawford has retired from CentralNic (AIM: CNIC) after leading the company as CEO since 2009. He is also departing the board.
The company’s CFO, Michael Riedl, has been promoted to CEO. Riedl came over to the company from KeyDrive, which CentralNic acquired in 2019.
Crawford led CentralNic through an IPO and turned it into a rollup of domain name companies, and later added online advertising companies. The company generated just $2 million of revenue when he was appointed CEO, and now generates a whopping $700 million per year. The company has a market cap of £400 million.
William “Billy” Green, Group Financial Director, will be the new CFO, initially in a non-board capacity.
The company said it expects full-year results to be at least in line with the upper end of market expectations.
