Asperitas Showcases Three HPC Liquid Cooling Partnerships at #ISC2019

Immersed computing solution provider Asperitas from the Netherlands is partnering with data center providers in various countries in Europe to provide liquid cooled high density compute solutions for high performance computing (HPC) use cases. During ISC 2019 this week in Frankfurt, Germany, Asperitas will showcase three of those partnerships including coolDC (UK), Bytesnet (NL) and Cloudnautic (DE).

For HPC use cases Asperitas is offering fully integrated high-density compute solutions for CPU and GPU workloads – designed, optimized and certified for ‘Immersion Computing.’ During ISC 2018, the first solutions developed by Asperitas in partnership with Boston were presented. The partnerships with the HPC data center providers on this year’s show would be a logical next step towards offering fully turnkey and managed HPC solutions and services, according to Asperitas.

Each provider is operating data center facilities that are ready for operation and in some cases specifically designed for the liquid cooled ‘Immersed Computing’ solutions and concepts from Asperitas.

Asperitas’ partner showcases during ISC 2019 include:

Bytesnet (NL) – this is a data center provider with two locations in the Netherlands offering a liquid cooled facility in the city of Groningen which is energy efficient, capable of housing high density compute and there is the opportunity to connect to several heat reuse possibilities locally with district heating developments in the area. Bytesnet is offering HPC as a service to public and private organizations with their consortium partners including Asperitas.

Cloudnautic (DE) – this is a data center provider to be launched in the second half of 2019 in Germany. Fully focused on HPC and specifically on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, the modular facility design is based on Immersed Computing and will be supplied with wind-generated renewable power from a local wind farm. Energy storage services will provide backup power and with heat reuse possibilities nearby Cloudnautic is aiming to achieve one of the most efficient and sustainable data centers in Germany. For HPC users from the German industry their facility could offer an alternative to the Nordics.
