- TMGcore Unveils Groundbreaking Data Center Platform: TMGcore has unveiled its evolutionary technology, OTTO, a completely automated, self-contained, two-phase liquid immersion-cooled data center platform (2PLIC) that features a closed loop system, uses zero water and is a tenth of the size of a traditional data center. By using OTTO, clients can cut operational costs by 80 percent while receiving ten times more processing power per square foot. Clients can select from four different OTTO platforms: OTTO 600kw, OTTO Edge 120M, OTTO Edge 60XS and OTTO O.T.E. 60XS. The largest model, OTTO 600kw, is only 160 square feet, which is about the size of a Chevrolet Suburban. All OTTO models have lights out operations. They have fully automated server, PSU hot swapping and can be controlled either locally or remotely. Every platform is environment neutral, meaning OTTOs can fit into existing systems or can tie directly into a new facility.

- Fidelity Digital Asset Services Gets Green Light for NYC’s Growing Crypto Marketplace: The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) has granted a charter under New York Banking Law to Fidelity Digital Asset Services (FDAS), to operate as a limited liability trust company as part of the state’s rapidly growing virtual currency marketplace. DFS has authorized FDAS to provide a virtual currency custody and execution platform, on which institutional investors and individuals can securely store, purchase, sell, and transfer Bitcoin. FDAS is a subsidiary of the Fidelity financial services company, which had assets under administration of nearly $7.0 Trillion USD as of December 2018. Including the charter granted to FDAS, to date DFS has approved 23 charters or licenses for companies engaged in virtual currency business activities.
- ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation Partners with Volterra for its Distributed Cloud Platform: ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation has began reselling and integrating Volterra’s solution for distributed cloud services to enable its customers’ distributed applications. The Volterra distributed cloud platform provides a full set of capabilities required for edge and multi-cloud computing, such as deploying virtual environments (containers), seamless and secure multi-cloud and edge communication, and application security within and between devices. The solution is particularly well-suited for ITOCHU Techno-Solutions customers in the manufacturing, distribution, and information and communication fields that use distributed applications and IoT technology. The company is targeting to deploy Volterra’s platform across 50 customers over the next three years.
- Wind River Expands Ecosystem Collaboration on 5G Distributed Edge Solution for Service Providers: Wind River, a leader in delivering software for the intelligent edge, today announced that it is collaborating with Dell EMC as a key hardware partner for distributed edge solutions. A combined software and hardware platform would integrate Wind River Cloud Platform, a Kubernetes-based software offering for managing edge cloud infrastructure, with Dell EMC PowerEdge server hardware. The initial target use case will be virtual RAN (vRAN) infrastructure for 5G networks. Wind River Cloud Platform combines a fully cloud-native, Kubernetes and container-based architecture with the ability to manage a truly physically and geographically separated infrastructure for vRAN and core data center sites. Cloud Platform delivers single-pane–of-glass (SPoG), zero-touch automated management of thousands of nodes.
