In January of this year, I noticed that Pixy.com changed hands. The domain name had long been owned by Digimedia, and it transferred to GoDaddy under Whois privacy. A couple of months later, the domain name transferred to MarkMonitor, also under Whois privacy.
It is now clear what company acquired Pixy.com. Snap, Inc. announced a new drone camera called Pixy:

Smartly, Pixy.com is used by the company for the Pixy website. Snap could have easily registered SnapPixy.com or put its Pixy website somewhere on the Snap.com website, but it chose to acquire the valuable Pixy.com domain name from Digimedia for this standalone website.
I couldn’t speculate what Snap paid to acquire Pixy.com, but I am sure it was a good deal for Digimedia and Snap got itself a great brand match domain name.
