Gandi will now be part of Your.Online.
Domain name registrar Gandi is part of a new corporate entity.
Officially, Gandi and Total Web Solutions (TWS) “merged” to create Your.Online. As part of the deal, Gandi.net will remain autonomous, according to the Your.Online site. It quotes Gandi founder Stephan Ramoin:
In creating Your.Online we ensure Gandi remains autonomous, while teaming up with like-minded people. Our complementary services and positions will enhance customer propositions and allows us to challenge the status quo.
Ramoin will take a non-executive role as chairman of the Your.Online advisory board.
In a blog post commenting on the deal, Michele Neylon, CEO of ICANN-accredited registrar Blacknight, noted:
Over the past couple of years TWS has been expanding quite aggressively via acquisitions in the European market. However it looks like the Gandi deal is the biggest one they’ve been involved with so far. Instead of simply slotting Gandi into the existing TWS stable of companies it looks like they decided to create a whole new entity “Your.Online”.
