New .com rankings: a surprise entry to the top 10

These are the fastest growing and biggest domain name registrars for .com domains.

ICANN has published the latest official data from Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN) about the .com namespace. This registrar-by-registrar report covers December 2021.

A registrar called Conbin Information Systems jumped into the charts for monthly registrations. I assume this was a bulk deal. Here’s how registrars did in terms of new .com registrations in December:

1. GoDaddy.com* (NYSE: GDDY) 720,658 (803,348 in November)
2. Namecheap Inc. 257,979 (270,852)
3. Newfold Digital+ 181,481 (148,953)
4. Alibaba 180,953 (167,636)
5. Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL) 139,030 (150,051)
6. Tucows** (NASDAQ:TCX) 125,630 (137,253)
7. TurnCommerce 110,158 (102,672)
8. Cnobin Information Technology 100,589
9. NameSilo 98,196 (118,228)
10. Dynadot 86,211 (193,435)
