The domain name MyEx.com sold yesterday on DropCatch.com for $49,550 USD, The domain name was a controversial buy due to its history and that it was shut down by the FTC in 2018.
The domain name was caught after expiring and was previously operated by Web solutions Netherlands BV / EMP Media Inc before its closure, it was a site that allowed nude photographs of people posted by former lovers along with their real names often known as Revenge Porn.
When it was closed by the FTC the operators were requested to pay more than $2 million – You can see the FTC case timeline and outcomes here.
I am not sure what the new owner intends to do with the domain name but to me, it’s a very big gamble due to its checkered past… What do you think?
