Data Center POST (DCP) Question: International Telecoms Week is one of the industry’s largest and most important events for the year. What type of company do you work for and what are you looking forward to accomplishing at ITW 2023?

Jeremy Pease, CEO, Colohouse (JP) Answer: At Colohouse, we deliver impactful solutions to our customers to unburden their IT resources. Our extensive network of locations across the US provides colocation, network, cloud, metal, and managed services to help our customers optimize for performance, cost, and compliance.

The team is looking forward to connecting with colleagues, old and new, to open up conversations about what the “new Colohouse” looks like and how we can add value to their customers and vice versa.

DCP Q: The first ITW Keynote panel features some of the industry’s largest players sharing their perspectives of the industry.  What is the top trend that you and your company has its sights on, and why?

JP A: We focus on enabling broadband services, whether Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Wireless, or Cloud Connectivity. We are seeing tremendous growth in these and a few other areas in Infrastructure and Broadband.

DCP Q: As the global wholesale infrastructure industry continues to evolve, what are you experiencing from enterprise users about how they need to be supported (or technologies they need developed?)

JP A: The more we go up the stack with Enterprise customers, the more we see a demand for multiple types of cloud solutions and colocation services, coupled with significant automation and connectivity features. The automation aspect is essential in enabling customers to optimize the use of their development teams that run the apps on the solutions provider, and as an enterprise organization, they need global connectivity to reach their employees and end customers.

DCP Q: The cloud continues to be a hot topic.  Some say it’s continuing to grow even bigger, others are saying businesses are starting to repatriate from the cloud into managed infrastructure, such as bare metal. What are you experiencing in your business and how are you adapting to that?

JP A: We see customers repatriating from the public clouds onto platforms like bare metal that are far more affordable and still provide them the automation capabilities they need to optimize their application with their developer teams. In many cases, this also allows for more access to specialized edge locations and backend support from the providers, which is often not available with public cloud providers. We are working to improve our automation capabilities around bare metal to cater to these customer needs while also improving our cloud experience for those that need that type of platform alongside their bare metal environments. We want to empower customers to access our colocation, bare metal and cloud solutions with the automation and services needed to successfully support their application needs.

DCP Q: What are you most looking forward to sharing about your company at ITW 2023?

JP A: We want to share our brand refresh and improved capabilities around cloud, bare metal and connectivity. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our offerings to support multiple solutions that enable customers to host their applications in the best way to optimize  performance and cost models.

DCP Q: What else would you like for our readers to know that you haven’t already shared about your company?

JP A: Colohouse has built a leadership team with values that prioritizes people first. We promote a culture where we care for our colleagues, both internally and externally. This involves providing consistent and transparent communications to our employees on a monthly basis while also being open and transparent with our customers through our interactions with them. We believe trust and transparency in all of our interactions creates an environment where employees enjoy coming to work, and our customers enjoy working with us.
