DC BLOX, a leading provider of digital infrastructure across the Southeastern United States, has announced plans to develop four new hyperscale edge node data centers. This expansion marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the region.
The new facilities will be strategically located across the Southeast, with two in Alabama, one in South Carolina and a previously announced location in Georgia. The facilities will support power as follows:
Collectively, these four edge sites will provide an initial 25MW devoted to hyperscale clients, with a total potential capacity of 160MW for additional tenants. This substantial increase in capacity positions DC BLOX to meet the surging demand for edge data services in the Southeast.
In addition to the data centers, DC BLOX is constructing a dark fiber ring around metro Atlanta. This network enhancement will enable regional connectivity from the Atlanta East campus in Conyers, Georgia and provide global access through DC BLOX’s regional fiber backbone, which connects to the Myrtle Beach cable landing station.
This comprehensive approach to infrastructure development aligns with DC BLOX’s strategy of delivering scalable, efficient digital infrastructure solutions across the region. The company’s portfolio now includes edge-market Tier III data centers, the Myrtle Beach Cable Landing Station, large-scale hyperscale data centers and a regional fiber network.
The development of these hyperscale edge node data centers has earned strong support from local municipalities. Leaders across the Southeast recognize the economic and infrastructure advantages these facilities bring to their communities. Local economic development officials have also expressed enthusiasm for the projects, highlighting the transformative potential for their respective regions. The investments are expected to attract further tech investments and create new economic opportunities in these areas. The partnerships between DC BLOX and local authorities reflect a shared vision for growth that benefits both local communities and the wider region.
As DC BLOX continues to expand its footprint in the Southeast, the company is positioning itself as a key player in enabling innovation, connectivity and sustainable digital growth in this rapidly evolving region. The development of these hyperscale edge node data centers reaffirms DC BLOX’s commitment to supporting the digital infrastructure needs of businesses, from enterprises to hyperscalers, across the Southeastern United States.
